Box.com is a cloud-based content management and file-sharing service. It provides a platform for businesses and individuals to store, manage, and collaborate on files and documents online. Box.com allows users to upload, access, and share files from any device with an internet connection.
BoxPress integrates Box.com API with WordPress to display and search Box files on your site.
Listing Files
BoxPress includes a shortcode that displays your Box files. The files are shown in the file-folder view where you can click on a folder name to see its files – just like you do in the Box dashboard.
- Create a page and give it a name
- Add this shortcode to the page
[boxpress]
Searching Files
You can allow your site visitors to search the Box files right from your site. This involves 2 steps-
-
-
Creating the search form
- Create a new page and give it a name.
- Add this shortcode
[boxpress_search]
- You can use this in a widget, too (that makes better sense)
-
Creating the search result page
- Create another page and give a name
- Add shortcode
[boxpress_results]
- Go to the settings page and choose this page as the Results Page
- Configure other options like if you want to include your local posts, pages, custom posts or users to be included in the search results
- You’re done
-
Storing Files
In the next version of BoxPress, we’ll include this feature where you’ll be able to store your media files to your Box storage.
